How To Plan A Bridal Shower
Bridal Shower Checklist The bridal shower (or couple’s shower) is the maid of honor’s prewedding piece. Even though someone else can host the bridal shower, like the bride’s relatives. So here’s a handy bridal shower checklist to help you plan an amazing party for the bride-to-be. Two Months Before Talk to the bride about what she wants, her colour, style and setting. Make sure you plan according to her input. Set the date—project a month before the wedding. If certain bridesmaids and important family and friends can’t convene until a few days before, hold off until the week of the wedding then. If the bridal shower will take place at a venue you have no control over, make the reservations as early as possible. Create the guest list for the bridal shower. And take note: Anyone you invite to the shower must also be invited to the wedding. One Months Before Send a “save-the-date” email or call important guests to see if there might be any scheduling conflicts. As a courtesy, call any guests who’ll have to travel some distance to attend—they’ll appreciate the advance notice. Discuss with the bridesmaids to establish a budget. Purchase bridal shower invitations or materials […]
THE WEDDING MENU
The menu wedding The menu wedding menu can consist of anything from the main course meal, to dessert, finger foods/small chops and cocktails. There are various factors to consider when planning a menu for a wedding. Here are a few things you need to consider and a few ideas to help you avoid any sticky situations 1. How many people are coming You need to ascertain how long your guest list is, so as to plan the menu and what it will contain. This will also reduce the risk of excessive cooking or excessive food wastage. 2.What’s your budget? The menu is usually one of the most expensive aspects of a wedding, because you never know what to expect from guests. One can’t take a wild guess and assume everybody eats everything, so its best to portion out a substantial amount in order to get a wide variety. 3.Allergies anyone? Food allergies are one of the risky things that cause problems at weddings, its either someone is chocking on nuts or shrimps. The solution is simple, when sending out the invites and R.S.V.Ps, if you already have a cook lined up, then he should be able to draw up a range […]
CHOOSING THE ULTIMATE WEDDING DRESS
THE ULTIMATE WEDDING DRESS For every woman choosing the ultimate wedding dress has always been her desire since when she was a teenager. But when the day eventually approaches you have to go beyond the fantasies and pick the right wedding dress that fit and flatter your body type. Here are 4 things to have in mind when choosing a wedding dress. 1) Your body type The first thing you should take into consideration is your body type. Try to see if what is in your mind fits your body type. If it doesn’t, consider something else. You should understand that sometimes what you want may not suit your body type, which could be a total disaster. Don’t be in denial, know your body type and stick to the perfect style for it. 2) The right time to pick a dress Once you choose a wedding date, the next thing to do is to pick out the dress. It is very important so that you have enough time to make any sort of adjustments that may arise. If it has handwork, or hand beading, there will be enough time to do it. Again, the more time you have, the cheaper the dress […]
Epic Love Story
AN EPIC LOVE STORY : SYLVIA & EMMANUEL’S PRE-WEDDING SHOOT Sylvia and Emmanuel have such an inspiring epic love story! Emmanuel actually recognised his wife even in the midst of a seeming unpleasant situation. Emmanuel met Sylvia, in a Night Vigil, while he was moving round the church on his night watch as an usher one fateful day. It was a simple moment of helping a young lady who wasn’t feeling so well 6 years ago, and now a wedding is scheduled for August 27th 2016! Corahub joins the entire management and staff of Multiskills to wish Sylvia & Emmanuel happy planning, beautiful wedding and life ahead. Emmanuel Narrating: “I met my fiancée on a Saturday morning [1AM or so]. The vivid date was 01/05/2010. You’d wonder what an odd hour we met. Well, it is an odd hour but it’s a destined HOUR. I was an usher in the church at this time and as my manner is, I must move around the church premises periodically to observe happenings around. It was during one of such checks that I ran into the most beautiful girl [woman now] I’d ever seen. Though the condition that brought us close at first […]
Our Power Oil Story
The Power Oil annual Walkathon event held in Port Harcourt at the stadium on the 16th of July 2016. The Power Oil WalkHeartOn Port Harcourt was quite an experience for me and the entire Corahub team. How we met I got to know about this event when Tequila Nigeria contacted Corahub asking us to provide one of our caterers. Coincidentally earlier in the day, I had already looked up @RoyalTouchevents and spoke with her about how Corahub can help her business. I immediately contacted Royaltouch and made the arrangement for 1000 participants. I felt involved already so I had to be there and trust me, it was a lot of fun. Royal touch events actually prepared the small chops at the venue … So it came out really fresh and hot. As an individual, I got converted! I now use Power oil; I get to any length to ensure its Power Oil I use for my family… I even learnt the Power Oil radio jingle…LOL So I will use this opportunity to say Kudos to Power Oil… and will encourage more of this maybe quarterly instead of annually. This was also a Milestone for Corahub. When that call came from […]
8 DOs and DON’Ts of WEDDING PLANNING
Wedding Planning From experience here are eight Dos – and Don’ts you should consider when planning a wedding. 1) Do: Think twice before you “Do it yourself” If you are a creative bride, you may think DIY is a great solution, not just to cut down on your wedding costs, also to allow your creativity show. But, be warned! Professional photographers, florists and cake designers are there for a reason – and they’re experts at what they do. If you’ve got a friend or family member who fancies themselves as a bit of a photographer and has offered to take on your wedding photos, think again (unless, of course, they’re a professional wedding photographer themselves)! Visit www.corahub.com and see our list of professional photographers. The value of a professional wedding photographer cannot be underestimated and will become apparent once you see the results. Professionals also tend to have back-up processes in place should anything happen to your precious photos, flowers or cakes etc. Besides, the wedding planning process can be so complex – and stressful at times, it’s unlikely you’re going to have time (or want to) be spending time in the kitchen, or out collecting flowers, or stitching up […]

Vendors Can Make or Break Your Event
Vendors Can Make or Break Your Event At the heart of a successful event planning is a team of reliable vendors. It can’t be overstated: Your events will be marred by even one bad vendor. Just as a bad apple ruins the lot, one bad vendor may leave a bad image in your visitor’s mind of the event as a whole. Perhaps the florist arrives with wilted and faded centrepieces. Or the singer you hired sounds more like a howling dog than a professional songstress. It’s hard to erase these images from the minds of your client and the attendees. To find top-rate vendors, you must do your due diligence. The types of vendors you’ll need to hire for events include: Art director: handles design, computer imaging, etc. Caterer/bartender: serves food and beverages Calligrapher: handles lettering on invitations and signage Decorator: provides décor Florist: provides floral arrangements Graphic artist: designs and executes event posters or invitations Photographer/videographer: photographs, records and preserves the event Performer: provides entertainment Transportation/parking personnel: drives and parks vehicles etc Even if a mistake is a vendor’s fault, the mishap will reflect on you because you’re managing the event. That’s what makes researching vendors so important. Choosing […]
Affordable Honeymoon Ideas
Affordable Honeymoon Ideas After months or even years of planning and executing a wedding, your honeymoon is the time for the two of you to relax, settle in, and start enjoying your time together as you embark on your journey as a family. You also need to make the most of this time. It’s important to focus on what you want out of a honeymoon: For most couple is a time to be alone together, have a lot of fun together, make conclusions on the many plans they had before the wedding and lay down strategy on how to build their home into what they have imagined. Below is a list containing affordable but fun-filled honeymoon ideas. 1) Go Camping A week long camping trip is a fantastic way to see how you mesh together as a couple. You’re put in a low impact “survival” situation where it’s just the two of you and nature. You have a chance to see how your new spouse handles themselves when left with the basics of life. There are amazing national parks in most countries. 2) Stay-cation You don’t have to go anywhere for a honeymoon. In fact, the tradition of taking a […]
